It’s now 11 years since the soul gospel singer Serge Iyamuremye began his musical journey back in 2012. Meanwhile, throughout a period of a decade doing gospel music, Iyamuremye soulful diva carries a message of the good gospel of Christ, of healing and salvation towards faith believers and non-faiths.
His gospel songs whose both melody and messages have an impactful effect on the audience have inspired many upcoming artists who take the RnB gospel singer as their model.
Iyamuremye is mostly known for gospel melodic divas such as ‘Biramvura’, ‘Yesu araje’, ‘Yesu agarutse’, ‘Yari njyewe’ and ‘Ishimwe’ among many other divas.
Like any other artists, Iyamuremye’s musical career was never a walkover especially when he started and the threats includes those coupled with financial hurdles.
“I cannot say that it has been an easy journey but as a Christian, I leaned on God and he gave me the strength to keep doing gospel music. At times I had to invest a lot of money with no expectations of earning it back,” Iyamuremye reflects on his musical hurdles as per his official website.
“Even though it took time, God paved a way for me and things got smoother and started to earn compared to the past years,” he further adds.
When he was celebrating his 10 years anniversary in the gospel music industry in 2021, the 34-year-old singer released his debut album dubbed ‘Urugendo’ which was later nominated by the Gospel Touch Music Awards as "Best African artistes of the same year".
His vocal epitome has earned him a name as an outstanding gospel singer both in the country and abroad.
In the meantime, Iyamuremye has featured many vocal artists including the Burundian gospel twin artists Erica and Jesca in ‘Ndi ku Rutare’.
He has also featured fellow renowned singers like Israel Mbonye among other features including Daniella and Rugarama.
Born in 1990 in a family of believers, Iyamuremye attended Ecole Primaire de Kivugiza in Nyamirambo, Nyarugenge district, Groupe Schoolaire Rugunga and Groupe Kabusunzu, APACE.
Last year, the renowned singer flew to the USA where he married his girlfriend Sandrine Uburiza.
