“Being a university student leader, during this corona virus pandemic, we need such leaders who can follow up their students.

MUGABO Moses the Guild President of University of Kigali that he shared with The Campus in an interview “I am supposed to closely contact students on a daily basis such that whoever needs any kind of support, can access it effectively and in time.”  He further explained on how he is fighting against effects of corona virus pandemic in solving student issues by use of online platforms to make everything go well. 

The Dean of Students from Mount Kenya University Doctor Kirabo Joyce says that people should continue their work bearing in mind that corona virus exists and this becomes the fact of fulfilling all measures from the Rwandan Ministry of Health. She added that there should be use of online platforms either in communications or payments in order to protect ourselves from covid-19 while still working.  However she indicated the great role to be played by leaders other than beneficiaries.

As we continued discussing, Mugabo identified basic elements leaders should possess during this tough period to easily deliver the best saying that leaders should be good listener to the people they are leading or working with to achieve more developments and targeted goals. Leaders should also be confident in whatever they are doing as much as work is concerned. He added that leaders should always communicate and should be accountable.

Throughout our conversation, President Mugabe kept on calling all leaders and leaders to be whether a student or not to always give priority to the needs of their people before their personal benefits.
